Ya it seams most of the improvements are for the Su-25 only at this point. Appearently is the flight model is going to be something sweat.

A note about the bloody cockpit. Isn't it nice that, dispite the fate the pilot is bleeding bad, he still looks at the camera for a screenshot :-)

Extremely beautifull that should be said.

Now run that kind of detail on a normal computer, with avionics settings to realistic ala falcon and a dynamic campaign.

I guess it is just what you want out of a flightsim.
Best of both worlds is currently impossible with one pc running everything.

For your information this is my opinion and has nothing to do with the project I am working on.

Best,

Sehm

I agree with you Pacman, although I am looking forward to the release of this add-on

Lets not hate. I woud have though you would be happier for the lock on team, they have done an amazing job over the last couple years. We are always wishing the FigerOps team the best of luck and hoping for an exciting project on the Lock On forums.

Besides, we all want the same thing out of our flight sims...fun.

hehe definetly not hate bud.
And I do agree they have done and are still doing an amazing job.
I have Lock on and it is definetly fun to fly.

I just gave a realistic respons with current technology in mind. :wink2:

Best regards,

I like Combat Flight Sims in particular Fighter Ops(when its released) and LockOn. Theres always room for Falcon later in the year I'll be getting that too. Pacman you are wrong dude, the Graphics that you saw in my post will be more than easily taken care of by the next generation of CPUs. (5-10ghz) I've been in this situation several times and each time I always went for the next step up for an upgrade. In a way I see software such as LockOn as head of its time. Currently my machine runs LockOn 1.02 at near full detail with only the odd lag at times. V1.1 after my next upgrade will be no problems.

I'm not going into a wrong/ true discussion here.
And read the difference in our posts I'm talking about a normal rig now, and you are talking about the next generation of CPU's.
You can't compare apple's and oranges and tell me I'm wrong.

Just read my point in the initial post on what I want you to do and that on a normal user system. your FPS goes down bigtime because that system will not ever pull that.

There is always a trade off between eye candy calculations and the calculations needed to run the rest of the sim.
Managing CPU cycles is one of the most important things in coding a flightsim, and you can't have the best of both worlds (running on one system that is :wink2: ).

I run Lock ON at near max detail except anti-aliasing and havent yet noticed anything less than 15 fps. Current video/cpu hardware can handle it but your gonna get what you pay for in that reguards. Don't expect to be able to do it with a $200 video card. Next generation video cards are projected to be twice as fast as the current Gforce 6800 Ultras and Dual Core CPUs will be widely available by the time Fighter Ops is published anyways. Over the past 10 years, Flight Sims have always been my benchmark for whether a hardware upgrade is needed. If I can't take off or land without fps skipping, I buy new parts. :)

Athlon 64 3800, Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra, MSI SK8N Neo 2 Platinum, 1GB DDR

I heard somewhere that a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz with 1 gig ram plus a decent Graphics card can handle V1.1. But I have yet to try that myself, hopefully when it is released I'll let you know the results.

I agree with Pacman that lock-on can't run on the average rigs..
but have anyone here tried running it on a dual 2.5 giga hz Apple G5?
Im sure it won't have a bit of a problem...

ye... I know.... how much people have the money for this kind of computer...
but like someone here said..
FighterOPS first release won't be in the next year... so computers will upgrade...
it could be nice having this graphics when choosing it from the graphics setup...
Scalability is the key...
if I have less then average computer i'll choose graphics the suite perfect to my system and the same for above average computer...

;-}

I think every new game (or sim) should be optimized for the new generation of gfx cards/processors. You have pixel shaders and stuff? Use it.. You have high-poly-support? Use it. IF YOU HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY, USE IT.

Yeah, some folks will have to buy new hardware... but hey-- they'll get a whole new game/sim... better than everything else. As long as you use the latest technology that's available.
