So, sick of hearing me talk about Hurricanes yet?
Not even two weaks after we got power restored (Sunday before last), we are getting hit by yet another Hurricane.
I never did like living in Florida. Wonder if it is time to move....
Sorry to here your getting bombarded with bad weather. I was stationed at Jacksonville and Mayport for awhile. I think I wrote about it befroe, but I never saw rain literally pour from out of the sky. Best wishes and try to stay dry!

We made it out OK. Minimal damage to the house and my family is all OK. We are all without power. The bad thing is that the feeder wires for my block are destroyed so it will be up to 3 weeks before I get power back.
We temperarly moved in with my in-laws as they have power and cable.
But the city sustained major damage... we had a brand new elementary school that was a special needs shelter get 30' of its roof ripped off. They had the evacuate all those people in the middle of the hurricane. All the street lights are either missing or laying all over the roads. The are houses all over with no roofs or just collapsed.
Here are a few pictures... in the one... yes, that is a street lights hanging... its one of the ones that is still there!!

Glad you and your family are oke...
Hurricane season runs until November, right...??!
Trust me, I feel your pain. I have been directing traffic at intersections with non-functioning traffic lights for the last six days, twelve hours per day. I usually come home, tell my wife that I am "beat-down tired", she feeds me and puts me to bed. This weekend was the best ever. I'm off today, it's been a beautiful day, and I haven't had to threaten to punch anyone in the face for trying to run over me.

Got power back to the house yesterday and got moved back in today. No place like home, that is for sure!
We will be putting a bunch of storm / damage photos online in a bit once we get them all sorted and such.
Will advise on that when it is time.
