When my dad an I went to his old ships reunion Uss Constellation before she was decommisioned they had a family day and we were allowed on and took a day cruise they did flight ops and we were allowed on the Deck while they launched off the 3, and 4 cats. IT WAS AMAZING we were standing on the cat walk so the wing tips of the planes were about 5-10 feet away. LOUD AS HELL but very very cool.
Wow, the carier story is cool man, I always tought it would be sooo loud on a carier with F14's, do you have an idea wich aircraft is the loudest? Tcat, f15, tornado, f16? My brother always said that the F16 is exremely noisy for the pilot himself 'cause he sits right in front of the engine or something like that.
GREETINGS,
PUTIWAN

For the ground crew on the aircraft carrier, the EA-6B is the loudest, beleive it or not. They do not even have afterburners! But when they go to high power on the cat, it is truely LOUD!
The next loudest? Well, the F-14 and F-18C are pretty close. Both of them will rattle the living hell out of your head, even with ear foamies in AND a cranial on.
The best part of Carrier Ops is when you are a final checker and you are final checking aircraft on Cat's 1 & 2. On one knee in the Throat with both aircraft in the cat and shooting them off one by one... Whoa! It is absolutely wicked.
Here are two pictures from my '99-'00 Gulf cruise to show what I am talking about. The guy in white is me.

Yeah can definately confirm that we had a bunch of EA6's down for an exercise they were drowning out the F-111's and Hornets.
