Whilst in England on Holiday the other week, we,(girlfreind,her son, and my self)travelled around the south, seeing stone henge and such ,but as i was stationed around that area in 1974,my first posting was RAF Upavon on the Sailisbury plains,we decieded to have a trip down memory lane and visit the old place,the army has now taken over, but the airfield is still open its grass and they use it for hercs to do lowlevel drops.
any way we was allowed on the airfield and i took some photos of my old work place the local glider club was there and after a talk to them they agreed to give us all a flight,i went first and took some pics , then my girlfriens son who is only 13 and never has been in any type of aircraft,on hes flight they had a cablebreak at about 800ft but the pilot got it up no probs then when he was up it started raining, so they had to come down ,so no flight for the girlfriend.
