Hi, Haole!

Great to have you around here!

Straight to some questions:

1) I'm not sure, if I implemented the RadarGain and AntennaElevetion functions right in my HOTAS:
*) if you turn the RDRGAIN knob "away" from you, does gain increase or decrease?
*) if you turn the ANTELV knob "away" from you, do you move the antenna down or up?

2) Flight preparation:
I don't know, if you're into mission planning, but maybe you'll be able to help me out. At times of mission planning computers, do pilots (or mission planers) still plan straight on paper, or do you just enter waypoints, etc.. at the computer and get a finished printed navigation card,... for the kneeboard?

I hope, the answers to this questions are not too classified...

thx a lot

Hi Michi,
If you turn the gain knob away from you (outboard, clockwise, etc) then you will increase gain. If you roll the elevation knob forward, then you are rolling the antenna down. Remember push it down and pull it up if that makes sense.
For the mission planning we use computers most of the time to plan routing and attacks. But we occaasionally go back to the paper and pencil to practice. In F-16 school every attack was drawn out and boy was that painful. You would mission plan and draw maps a whole day just for a 1.5 hour flight!
Well I hope I answered your questions! See ya around!
