To webmaster/webdesigner:

Great site folks! I was just wondering whether the current implementation with a HUGE background image and all the data hard-coded over the top with tables is the best approach. Might not a CSS-based layout be more flexible in terms of window dimensions and download speed?

A few people are wondering at the excessive loading time, caused by the background. At least crop the bg image to include only the cockpit section. Currently the bottom half is completely black, unnecessarily increasing file size.

I don't know about your state of information on web-programming or who makes design decisions, but if you were interested I could point you to some very enlightening resources for up-to-date web-site programming.

Hello,
They told me they wanted an html page so others could edited it if necessary, so that's what I made..
The background image is very tall because it has to be for pages where the content goes down very far and I didn't want to confuse myself with several different background images of the same size. But the image is increased on in black pixels, which adds about 5kb per 1000pixels that I extends it down..
Me and Dingo were playing around with download speeds and made it quite fast but sacrificed image quality and we decided it was best to leave it hi-res.
I was planning on using some SSI and such and actually did in earlier versions, but as either way the site would have a few, somewhat complex tables, it was harder to implement than I thought was necessary..
There may very well have been a better way to do the site, but in the 2 days that I went from final graphics to completely redoing the layout, to website launch, this is what was easiest for me..

If you have any specific suggestions about the site or any comments or questions or anything at all, feel free to email me at patrick.konsor@g2interactive.com

Hi Pat,

just when you try to do something the right way, real life gets in the way again. :wink2:

It's always the same isn't it?
