How about adding an ignore list? It's quite handy to stay out of flamewars ;)

you're kidding, right? I think people would get quite upset if they suddenly fond themselves on that kind of list imho.

Nope, I'm dead serious, I want the ability to put people on ignore. It's a very good system.

I think an ignore list that ignores both IMs and posts (posts and threads made by people on your ignore list seem to be non-existent) by people you wish to ignore would suffice.

How about booted off the island? We have something like that already. Perhaps Katz can show this feature.

well at this stage i dont feel we need that option, as i have found that practically all who post here are pretty good, and the ones that do cause trouble dont last long they get removed

if you have a problem with a specific member PM one of the mods or admin and we can try to sort it out.

But for now i dont think we need that option

If it's easy to add, why not adding it then? People can still choose if they want to use it or not. Too much threads getting ruined by 2 or 3 persons. I think there are two options to solve this: an ignore list or just leaving this forums.

We are actually looking at changing forum software very soon, so will probably have a look at it then, but I do tend to agree with Katz, trouble makers don't really last too long here, and personally I'd rather people reported posts they didn't like rather than just putting that person on ignore, as if a post offends you, a good chance it is going to offend others as well, and we can easily miss a post here and there.

Yep, vBulletin is what we are going with, I believe..
I agree with katz and buckshot on this.. it is better to let someone know so they can put a stop to any offensive or inappropriate material for all the people here.

(My name is Patrick, I think that buckshot should know who I am, but if not, stang and claude know who I am..)

Great, I advised Katz to use that some months ago :) Best forum software available IMO
