View Full Version : Camera views
Hey guys,
What do you think about the following camera views:
1. Missile camera. External camera riding with and focusing on the last missile or bomb that you released.
2. Target camera. External camera focusing on the target (air or land) that you currently have locked on to.
3. Victim view. This is more a toggle than a camera. Cuts away from whatever view you're using to a external view of any target that is a second or two away from being blown up from ordinance that you've released. Stays until a second or two after the explosion.
I personally think that they would be an invaluable aid to new pilots, especially on training missions. And, it also shows off the graphics engine too...

And point 2 will be very nice to identify the target if there is no other means to do it... Who needs awacs... smart....
To me the external cameras should only be available after the mission is done. A kind of ACMI Just for the "Show" with 1001 views and export options to 1001 formats, but in flight the use of Cameras should be used to a minimum. But this is the "Hardcore Beast" in me that are speaking...

Agreed. But you can't deny that they would be an invaluable aid to new pilots, especially on training missions. OK... except maybe point 2 like you said. Thinking clouded by :drink: :drink: :drink:

I think a missile seeker head camera would great for experienced pilots as well. Other views to provide some eye popping explosions wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah other views would be great too, for e.g. you have the recorder on in your A/C like in F4, You can film the entire flight until landing to make a movie, or when you launch the missle towards the enemy, you can turn on the recorder switch to seeker head view and afterwards show the clip to your squad online for training purposes or something like that

In my opiniom Lomac have got almost perfect camera views. External camera jiggle- wow, thats smoething! You should try this. Motion blur (only at low altitudes and high velocitys) would be great. All views should be avaible during play. Sometimes (very rarely) I like see how I deal with enemy (especially during dog fight) from external views. I fell like I'm wathing a good movie :D
Guys remember!! NO ONE can force you to use this or that external view! If you don't want use it's OK.
Let's say that I have got really powerful hardware (P4 3.4 Ghz, 2Gigs RAM, RADEON 9800XT, ect.) FO should be very realistic so graphics must be top and if someone have got weak hardware- I don't care!
You see my point I hope ! :military:

I for one see your point Spyro, but you must also remember that not everybody can afford a big rig like yours. And i'm sure most people with smaller systems, and who cannot afford big systems don't take very likely to attitudes like that.
Not trying to start anything, just lifting my opinion
