This is how I imagine perfect training missions:

-all basics training fly in 2 seater version jet
-all basics tranings with AI instructor who don't allows you die :D
-all live shootings should be fly in shooting range areas (special ground targets), airfights (BVR) only versus aerial targets
-dogfights only with allied jets (playing opponent role f.e. adversary painted F-5, F-16, F-14 like in real life) or aginst your squadron friend-weapons only simulated
-special loadouts (training bombs, rockets) but also normal bombs, missiles ect.
-extend briefing and debriefing who tell you what you doing good and what wrong (something like in DiD Super Hornet)
-after training mission should be able to play track (many different views- especially external) to see you flight

Of course many of you want fly aginst real opponent (I mean f.e. Mig-29)but in my opinion this broke a little global realism.

What are you think about this??

Agreed :drink:
I would also like the extended de-brief. Just like in real life

I want add something
I know that many of you are great virtual pilots and maby some of you don't need training missions but a majority virtual pilots need good manual and training missions. I thought that I'm in med-level until I start few weeks ago play F4 (SP4) and I'm thin like a pin :) Without manual and training missions I will be only a wet spot in ground. (Training missions could be better)
P.S. F4 rules  :military:

hmmm, never played Falcon 4
But I have to try it sometime I guess.
By the way, I hope the dev's doesn't make the sim impossible to learn. Training missions IS an important issue. So is an descent manual.

Sorry for my bad english

Yes training missions are important, as well as a manual taking you through each step needed when flying a specific training mission like F4 did with it's manual, you chose the mission, paged to it in your manual and it tells you in detail what to do and when to do it

A decent debrief is essential.

I lost count of how many times I was shot down in F4 whilst flying back over the target in a 'training sortie' to see whether I hit anything.
Something you just wouldn't do in real life.

It's no good telling you what to do if you don't get feedback as to how well you did.

This is particularly important for Ground to Air.
Battle Damage Assesment shots of the designated impact point would show how well you did.
Used in conjunction with 'target rings' on a training ground you can then see how accurate you were.

A damaged or destroyed list would be good as well.
In F4 you got that for campaigns, but not for training for some reason.

Flight paths could be shown - briefed and actual to show where you went off course etc.

Also SAM circles and missile tracks would show you the air defense threat and how you deal with it.

I like the idea of instructor voice prompts as well. It will help people get the timing right for complex manouvers.

All sounds good.

Wouldn't it also be cool if you could "train" your wingmen by going through the training?

Like if you wingman's skills are lacking and you want to help improve them without having to go into combat, you can just bring them with you into the training section and help them improve their skill?

I think that would be pretty cool.

Falcon 3 had somethin like that.
In the Arizona set we could make our missions and after some good missions the personal Stats of pilots could rise (or not).
In Squadron Management falcon 3 was 10X better than Falcon4 and let me say that the AI wasn´t inferior either...

It would be great stuff if that could be implemented in FO

Few new words about training missions.
I think that in FO should be implemented kind of weapon encyclopedia and TOP GUN missions.
There is so many weapons (bombs, missiles ect.), jets, ships ect. so even specjalist may have problems to choose/use right one (like in Lomac and F4). Encyclopedia will be very helpful.
About TOP GUN missions. In FO should be avaible some dog-fight lessons and tracks. Those tracks should shows how use different tactics and manouvers (scissior, yo-yo, ect.). Maby these tracks should show REAL dog-fights (of course redendered by game engine). I red many times articles/books about air fights but somtimes is very difficulit to imagine how someone shoot down enemy. Switching wievs we will be able see and learn how we can accutate use tactics and manouvers.

spyro23 i AGREE but you are talking about ACM course not top Gun course.
Top Gun is the only available to the top 1% of pilots.

The two courses should exist.

If a Pilot had an Top AA kill rate MAYBE he could be offered a TOP GUN COURSE and dogfight against TOP ACES...

What do you think
