TO Developers:

Might I suggest you to form a 3rd Party Developers group? In this way you will have many new units/structures which would never get into your current list due to your workload capacity. Since the new and cheap 3D Studios are available to individuals many people are using these tools.

Auran's Trainz have been using 3rd Party models in their game and they have been very successfull on that. Because game requires thousands of models which cannot be done by former developers, 3rd party members are helping them to create a decent Railroad simulation/world. Quality of 3rd party stuff is varying, because some members are even more capable than the former developers (and also individuals are working on single, favorite project) and many others are good enough to create adequate or good models while some others are working on basic and easier projects. In this way, Trainz have many new content even locomotives with new quality cabins, and the number is still counting while they are on their way to new game "Tranzportation".

If you are going to create a complete set of World of Modern Warfare, you will need hundreds of objects, many of them will be low-detail and easy tasks but when you check in total, there is a great job to deal with. Why wouldnt you take some free help? In this way you will be able to increase the game content and even flyable aircraft number. All you have to do is to provide requirements for textures and models for importation.

And also, in this way you will be able to form standartization on 3rd party stuff. Because game itself is quite closed to additional content (due to Dynamic game mode) Your control over "custom content" is required. I think this is the "card" you should play it as soon as possible. So, you will be able to enjoy many new content in even earlier beta releases. All you have to do is to choose the good and proper ones for the game.

For credits, I dont think anybody would require a golden plate for their services, for me, it is the greatest prize to have a complete new DYNAMIC combat simulation.

Cheers,

PS: I didnt write about coders who can contribute also, because I dont have much information about coding, but I see and use many custom tools and scripts in the games I have.

some examples of my work, it has been 2 years since I created this one, anyways, I think FO's models will be much better than this, so I would score it 7 out of 10, however if I can do this, then I can go further.

(Im sure FO team already added Su-30 to their list, we can help for the ones that are not in the official list)

and others are;

And again, Im sure that there are other people in FO community who can model/texture much better than me.

Yes great work Black Ace.

As for contributions there are a few options for you. You are quite welcome to do third party work and distribute it, however as stated in the FAQ, to have the work distributed in official releases it needs to be submitted through G2i for testing and approval. This is just to ensure that all work is fully compatible and we don't have a mess of conflicting patches floating around. It also helps in that we then don't have 2 or more developers both working on the same thing.

The other option is to keep an eye out for the project database which will go live with public access in the near future. You will be able to see exactly what items are being worked on already, and what items are not currently assigned. You will have the opportunity to participate as a contributing member of the development team and be rewarded financially for your efforts.
