One of the best flight sims from a few years ago, as far as Mission Planning and Intel is concerned, has to be Tornado.
The major points of mission planning covered were:
Flightpath plotting, target assigning, Deconflicting of flightpaths/timings etc etc. All of this could be broken down to each jet within the package. It was a great setup for AI wingmen, they would hit exactly what you wanted them to hit, without pulling your hair out trying to make them do it.
I dont think there was a recon view modeled, ie Falcon, but it shouldnt be to much of a stretch to incorporate it?.
As for the Intel side, the high point with Tornado was you could pinpoint any "weak point" target within the enemies systems, ie transport, air defense units, Radars, POL system, Comms and Command, etc etc.
The intel model would show a pretty reliable prediction of "hit this, cause maximum disruption/disarray".
So this is my dream/request as far as features go, I'm sure there are more technically savvy guys out there who have seen/played Tornado, and know what I'm on about, and can make it a reality.
Cheers, Dog.

G'day Bladehawk,
Hyper Realistic is what I'm after as well mate, I've made reference to Tornado and that particular aspect (mission planning) more as a guide, or starting point.
Just to give the development team an idea to run with, kick around, or kick into the bin if it doesnt work
Obviously Tornado is very long in the tooth, but it was heading in the right direction with the concept of mission planning. And also Falcon with it's recon view.
Real Life jet jockey's dont just strap on a jet 'n go stoogin about for something to happen do they?
They'll have a specific target handed to them, and then be expected to plan their mission, along with getting an overall picture as to whats goin on, ie total targets for their package, other packages in the target area etc.
I also mentioned the recon view from Falcon because it has a part in the Hyper Realistic feel as well.
Most pre-planned targets will have some form of recon data to look at, be it recon jet photo's, spook info (sat pics), or ground pounder observation teams.
You have to admit, it would be a warm fuzzy feeling to run in on a target with a damn good mental picture of the target area, your specific target, your wingmens targets, and when their going to hit them, ie simultaniously, before/after you hit yours :military:
Cheers, Dog.
"raeme"? You're not part of the workshop mafia are you mate?

TORNADO has the best mission planning I ever saw in many combat simulations that has been developed last 10 years.
HARRIER ASSAULT could be another reference
Yeah Dog that sounds fantastic. In Janes F15 you could also assign your wingman specific targets. Which makes your target run a lot less stressful!!!!!
This i my opinion has been a major draw back with Falcon. To much time spent loitering in the Target area trying to get your wingman to attack targets!!
