"Model the Spherical World to include the entire Earth with over 1000's of airports and their associated NAVAIDS."

This means that the "Hyper Realism" will feature the take of from the USA air force bases, refuel over the atlantic before entering in the theather of conflict, say Korea i.e.

I would like that "pure navigation" before "pure kick ass!!!"

*Begins to salivate*

This would be amazing... I hope that this will become a reality, without limiting the theatre of operations to specific regions/theatres, like in Falcon 4.0 (i.e. if you choose to fly in a Korean theature, you can't fly off the map to Iraq, etc etc).

I've been thinking of that a very long time as well. This way you will really play the campaign from end until beginning.

If they can make it so, that campaigns can be created easily, you'll have the whole world to pick a spot where to fly.

I would love to see that modeled as well, the ability to take off and land anywhere in the world in FS2004 is one of the things I enjoy most.

Also I would actually like to see the sky change or the sun set and/or rise while I'm on a flight.

In my opinion, the most important thing is detail / landscape.

My dream in jet fighter simulations is when you fly in some canyons, *really* tight places, and the bad buy crashes ;)

IL2 has nice details/graphics, but it is too flat...

This is going to be an excellent sim, squadrons from different countires can wage a virtual war against each other, that can go on for weeks, or even months

Yea all the ideas are good ! but at least, the virtual pilot should feel the "Joy !!!" of travel thousands of miles and refuel, like the real pilots must do... and FO shoul not have PAUSE or FREESE options
This my friends is Hyper Realism ( Wanna Pee ??? do it BEFORE THE FLIGHT, or do it in your pants... ooooo  thats Hyper Realism...) or turn auto pilot and run to the WC !!!

 I'm sure that if you are flying a BARCAP mission for a few hours on your not so comfy pc chair, your behind will certainly feel close to what a real pilot feels

OK, so if the whole world is modeled as you would like it to be, I only have one request that will make it all worth it.

Include the B-2.

We can take off from Missouri, fly a mission into the Middle East, and then fly home for a total time of 35 hours.

That would be so great.

Oh, please include autopilot as well. :)

If we're gonna have 35 hr flights they better model the piddle-pack... :D

35 hour flight......

You are crazy.

Let me guess... take off and go afk before you eat dinner, shower and sleep. Wake up, bomb your target, autopilot back on... go to work/school, come home and land? Hrm.. sounds like a good idea actually. hehe

IxianMace

Now what would happen if you were afk and on autopilot, flying on your way home, and you were caught by enemy fighters?

Then you wouldn't be the happiest guy in the world, especially after going through all the precautions of autopilot etc.

A hyper realistic flight sim MUST AT LEAST have the option of "spending" 35 or more ! ( the real thing ! ) with my ass on a chair ...

Vlerkies
03-12-2004, 04:11
And it musn't be a comfy chair, it must be a hard ass chair

right On ! Vlerkies !

Who said that a simulator as to be "confy" or "fun"?

War is not fun ! And a War Simulator becomes more "MORE REAL" as HE BECOMES LESS "FUN"...

So a HARD CHAIR, A 35 hours flight, the stress and all thet little detais are WELCOME !

Well ok, we can take this further...

If you happen to crash land your aircraft or somehow get yourself injured in the simulation, what should you do? Bash your head against the monitor, or throw yourself on the floor?

Ah, but remember the B-2 actually has bunks for the 2nd flight crew. They rotate on those missions. Doubt they are very big or comfortable though.

Ive spent many hours sitting in the cockpit of an F/A-18 for various maintenance tasks.... after about an hour of sitting there, it gets to be VERY uncomfortable.

I always wondered how the pilots that spent 6 to 8 hours over the beach (Afghanistan) could walk after they came back and landed.

I'm sure it gets uncomfortable, but the amount of training time spent in those pits gives them hard asses so they can endure everything

Man!!! If that all could be added to FO then that would take the cake of being the BEST flight sim ever. I hope it will come to reality(So to speak :D ).

maybe they are sooo involved in whats happening they dont have time to think about discomfort or they are just used to it :?

i read a post on another site about an F-16 being lost because the pilot was using his piddle pack and got his suit caught on something important while he was busy.
Plane went out of control and he was forced to eject.

I bet he got a lot of sympathy and understanding from the rest of the squadron...

So,yeah this is going to be a brilliant Sim,the whole world covered. Now,if when the time comes the Naval Ops add on or expansions are built on the following way a lot better.
Imagine not just to be able to fly fixed wing airplanes and helicopters from an AI Ship.Imagine the developers give us the full controllable ship, absolutely detailed of course, destroyers, frigates, cruisers and carriers with its entire or at least 80 per cent Air Wing, all weapon systems, radars and sonars working. So,lets talk about the carriers for example,we could set the fighters position between the flight deck and the hangar via a menu, and then clicking over a particular plane we could jump into the cockpit in order to fly it.
This way,if we have the whole world modelled Navy deployments can be done,
Carrier Battle Groups at sea, POWER FOR PEACE !!

But we ll discuss this with more detail with Pacman and Buckshot when Navy addon starts its development, ok?
