View Full Version : FO - not another Falcon version please
With regards to this new project, I would first like to pass on my best wishes for it - I truly hope FO succeed in what they want to do.
On a related point, does anyone agree that nowadays the community might not want to settle for another "version" of Falcon4.0?
I believe whats needed here is a brand new sim. Falcon, as great as it is, has just about had its day. Even recent developments made by BMS with the terrain, I feel, are not enough to continue to keep Falcon where it is (at the top, if you didn't know... :) )
Whats needed is a replacement for Falcon, not another rehash... and if I'm honest, reading what I have so far we may well see it too! Falcon4.0 could never support a whole world terrain model (could it?), so perhaps we're about to see something based on what the military get to play with?
One last request... can we get an AH-64D to fly as well please? ;)
sounds good and you can fly cover when i go in with the SAR team to get downed pilots :D
in case you didnt know there is a thread joking about SAR teams in the new sim :wink:

From what I've read, most Falconeers appear to love Falcon 4.0 more than they love flight-sims. It's their flight-sim, it's their hobby, and I can understand that, no one seemed to have any problems with F4:OIR when it was in development, nor did they seem to be complaining about a Falcon V. I doubt this will be 'another version of Falcon 4.0', I'm hoping it will be something much bigger and better. :D
If it was another version of Falcon 4.0, I don't think the hardcore Falconeers would mind all that much, so long as there were numerous enhancements/diferences/addons, etc etc. But this isn't going to be 'another version of Falcon' now, is it? ;)

As long as I can fly my fully simulated F16 falcon with killer graphics and hyper-realistic physics I'm happy.
AH-64D can wait 'til ARMYops :D

Good news Eluzion... Falcon is the best, but it needs deeper changes. Better start from scratch :)
And yes... we need more "full detailed" russian planes :mrgreen:

Excellent, very glad to hear this. As I said, as much as I love Falcon4.0 I don't feel it is the ideal base to create something new.
IMHO, you are targetting the right people - a brand new technology aimed at those who enjoy the FalconSP4/BMS/FF2.1 level of realism.
I sincerely hope you guys can pull this off, and it's not just a pipe-dream. Heck, I could even offer my (limited) knowledge to ensuring this happens!

Definatly. Under features I'm not seeing it. There are just the boring A-10, F-15 and F-16. I wonder when they'll ever release a simulator that does NOT feature one of these aircraft, but come out with an MiG-29...I can't recall ever seeing a SIM that featured the 29...
And indeed, Helos would be a welcome change of aspect...

I'm sitting here with Mig-29 Fulcrum by Novalogic. Not sure when it was released, several years ago. It certainly is not up to today's standard for what this community is looking for. If you want it, PM me and it's yours for shipping costs (and even that's negotible :wink: )

Nothing dodgy about the answer at all. We can't give you guarantees on the feature list of a sim that is in such an early stage of development. Of course the Mig 29 is going to be very high on the list, so it would be very unlikely that it won't be done, but nobody is going to give you a guarantee at this stage.

I have a few of novalogic's flight games and the best place for them is up in my closet where they've been for a few years now although I would like to see multiplayer like they have :mrgreen:

I've been flying all of em as well and do love em too, but there's just something about that 29...ever tried campaign in a MiG-29A on DPRK side? Then you'll know what I mean ;)

Showtime - the 2.5 patch for Flanker 2 introduced the MiG-29. If you haven't seen this then I urge you to track it down and install it. Like the MiG-29? You'll love this!

Falcon was and is at the top of the game right now. But there are code limitations that will limit it's ability to keep up with the times. Iv'e been lobbying for higher (much higher) graphical detail and this is something Falcon simply can not achive. As for Migs and Su's, anyone ever hear of the Su 37?, with thrust vectoring greater than the F 22!!! Truly scarry if you mix it up "doggy style" with this one. :roll:
