I think most of that bloom and FX is video post processing. He mentions in the intro the footage has been edited.

HOMG. Looks like ED made some huge improvements to the graphics engine! I was freaking out when I saw the cockpit shots, especially 2:30, which is actually a real clip edited to make it look like in game video XD
