I had sent a friend over that is not a very tech savvy guy. That is to say he does not use forums nor has a desire to. BUT he loves flight sims and was an F4 pilot that is super stoked about FO...well he is now that I told him about it...
Anyway, he wrote me back, "Mike, FO looked pretty awesome, it looks like they stopped development back in 09 though. Any thoughts?"
After discussing it with him I determined his basis was due to the construct of the web site. I guess the news is pretty vague but I explained it was all in area 51. His biggest basis was that it is the 7th month in 2010 and there are no screenshots in all of this year... Well again I explained that this was available in A51. He asked if I paid for it and I explained that I did a couple times but in the 2 years didn't get much more of an update than I got otherwise.
He explained that from a consumer AND enthusiast that showing progress to the general public would be far greater in developing interest and support that could be turned into money more appropriately utilizing fundraising and such. That way the project looks more serious and could generate an income base more suitable to fund the needs of the project.
If nothing else this man has earned my respect and is a very successful fighter pilot and business man...just thoughts to share.
Thanks in advance for any cookie cutter responses or flames that I draw for this...inevitably the nature of forums and why many people prefer other methods product education.
